Music is so important to all of us, it's an expression of who we are and how we feel and this is no different for people living in residential care.

By undertaking this 12 hour cycle, I hope to raise enough funds to pay for a Tribute Band or Entertainer to perform for the residents of William Simpsons.

I will be cycling on a stationary bike in the reception area of the Home, with two spare bikes alongside me in the hope I can encourage others to hop on and keep me company (or keep me awake) during my marathon cycle!

I have chosen to 'cycle-a-social-care-shift' to highlight the commitment of those who work in social care.  It's my way of saying thank you for everything that's been done through the pandemic to safeguard the men and ladies for whom William Simpsons is home.

Please sponsor the William Simpsons Cycle Team, every pound donated will help to power up our pedals and will keep our wheels turning for the full 12 hours on Tuesday 1st March!

Thank you!

We did it! With the support of my fellow cyclists, I managed to pedal for 12 hours from 6am to 6pm and I 'Cycled A Social Care Shift'!  It was a real team effort with staff and residents joining me on the spare bike, keeping me motivated, bringing me delicious fresh baked pancakes (well, it was Pancake Day!) and providing much needed company and conversation throughout the day.  We even managed to rock out the final hour by singing along very loudly to Queen, complete with the most awesome air guitaring ever seen!

What really is awesome is the generosity of everyone who has donated, through the website, via the sponsor forms and collection bucket.  Thank you all so very, very much.  I may have sat on a cycle for 12 hours but it's every one of you wonderful donors who have made this fundraising event a success. Thank You!

Keep checking in @WSCareHome to find out more about the concert you have helped to fund.   The event will be planned for when the warmer weather comes and the residents will be involved in selecting the tribute band who performs and thanks to you, they will have a broad choice.

Thank You!
