Life is better when it’s lived amongst friends.  William Simpsons provides small group, supported community living that ensures you are a part of something. 

Our accommodation consists of eight community flats housed within the Main Home building.  Each flat accommodates up to eight residents, who enjoy:

• Spacious private bedroom complete with ensuite shower
• Comfortable communal lounge area with smart TV and Alexa sound system
• Bistro style dining area with adjacent kitchenette for use by residents
• Dedicated, self-contained smoking area

Located within the stand-alone respite centre we offer:

• Five spacious and modern bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms
• One large double suite to accommodate a couple, complete with ensuite bathroom
• Comfortable lounge with smart TV and Alexa sound system
• Large open plan dining room, offering bistro style dining, comfortable seating nook and games area
• Modern kitchen with height adjustable surfaces and hob
• Ground floor wet room

Each community is supported by a dedicated team of experienced staff members throughout the day and night so that a friendly helpful hand is never far away.

The main home also hosts a variety of welcoming and well used communal areas which are accessible to residents from both buildings:

• Welcoming reception seating area, somewhere to sit in comfort and watch the world go by
• Large multipurpose café, open for a cuppa each morning and used for organised events, too
• Calming, quiet library space well stocked with books, magazines, audio books, videos and CDs
• Games room complete with full sized pool table, competition darts board and a variety of gym equipment
• Activities Hub room where hobbies can be enjoyed and interests can be pursued
• Salon room which accommodates our qualified inhouse hairdressers and hosts our visiting chiropodist, aromatherapist and optician
• Quiet corner seating areas throughout the hallways

Should you wish to venture outside, we have six acres of beautifully maintained grounds for you to explore; from our walled garden complete with vegetable patches and orchards, to our courtyard gardens and walking football pitch.

Life at William Simpsons is all about you, and your choices are at the heart of everything we do.

From the everyday decisions such as what time you get up and what you’d like to eat, through to the choices that make life interesting, the ‘what will I do today’ decisions - will it be swimming, jewellery making class or course fishing today? It’s all up to you.

Your staff team will get to know you really well and each team includes an Activity Co-ordinator who can arrange events, excursions and activities around your interests. 

Some of our popular events include:

• Adventure walks within wild nature spots
• History hunting with metal detectors within our historical grounds and local area
• Excursions to places of interest such as football grounds, museums and local beauty spots
• Thrill seeking trips such as sea-fishing and rickshaw riding
• Sporting and exercise events such as walking football, lawn bowls, swimming, dance classes and climbing wall sessions
• Art and craft sessions including pottery, carpentry skills, painting, jewellery and mosaic making
• Entertainment events where afternoon musical concerts are held within the Home and visiting theatre company’s perform plays.
