Right from the get go, the residents of William Simpsons were treated to a dazzling December packed with festive fun!

On the 1st of December, the dark winter's evening was filled with music as the Clackmannan District Brass Band led us all in christmas carols up until the moment of the countdown, when the lights were switched on and the Home and grounds were illuminated in sparkling christmas light!

With December underway, there were many more festive treats and William Simpsons traditions for residents to enjoy.  We had the annual 'festive door decorating competition' where residents and staff combined their talents to dress up their doors in different festive themes.  The winner is selected by resident vote and this year's winner was Flat 3 with their 'Grinch' door!

As the month moved on, residents enjoyed getting creative with a wide range of fantastic Christmas crafts. We wove winter wreathes, designed tree decorations, filled our own snow globes and even made superb snowmen from socks! We iced gingerbread houses, made mince pies from scratch and joined candle-lit carol concerts via zoom.  There was a christmas PJ day, a traditional christmas jumper day,  a residents' pamper day and we even had a pre-christmas visit from one of Santa's hairy therapet helpers!

On the Big Day itself, we dressed in our best and boogied the afternoon away with the wonderful Robbie Carran before enjoying a sumptuous Christmas dinner in the company of friends within the flats.

The rest of the festive week was spent in that time honored tradition of enjoying leisurely cuppas, board games, good films and conversation with friends before we welcomed in the New Year.

Lets all raise a smile and a cuppa to the good times we've enjoyed together within the Home!

Happy New Year everyone!
